Sip Til Send - Custom Scub cap designs

Sip Til Send - Custom Scub cap designs

Sip Til Send: Partnering with Prince of Wales Hospital for a Meaningful Cause In 2023, Hunter Scrubs had the privilege of partnering with Prince of Wales Hospital to create something truly special: a unique pattern for scrub caps called "Sip Til Send." This collaboration was more than just about creating stylish headwear; it was about supporting a significant change in medical practice that benefits both patients and healthcare professionals. The Inspiration Behind Sip Till Send The "Sip Til Send" initiative was born out of the need to remind both staff and patients about an important regulation change regarding fluid fasting for patients awaiting surgery. Traditionally, patients were required to fast for extended periods before their operations, which often led to discomfort and dehydration. However, emerging practices have allowed for a more patient-friendly approach, permitting patients to sip approved clear liquids up until the time they are called to the theatre. This practice, also known as "drink until called," has shown to reduce the overall fasting duration, making the surgical experience less stressful and more comfortable for patients. Designing the Perfect Pattern Understanding the importance of this initiative, we worked closely with the Prince of Wales Hospital team to design a pattern that would not only be visually appealing but also serve as a constant reminder of the "Sip Till Send" practice. The result was a fun, vibrant, and meaningful print that captures the essence of this progressive approach to patient care. But we didn't stop at just creating the fabric. We transformed this unique design into beautiful scrub hats that are now proudly worn by the hospital's staff. These hats are more than just a piece of clothing; they represent a commitment to patient comfort and well-being, and a reminder of the positive changes happening in healthcare. A Style for Everyone Understanding that one size does not fit all, we created these scrub hats in four different cap styles to suit various head shapes and hair types. Whether you have long, thick hair or prefer a more snug fit, there's a Sip Till Send cap for you. Each cap is crafted with the same attention to detail and commitment to quality that Hunter Scrubs is known for. Personalization for the Perfect Touch To make these caps even more special, we are able to embroider with the wearer's roles and responsibilities, whether on the ward or in the operating room. This personalisation not only adds a professional touch but also fosters a sense of pride and identity among healthcare workers. Making a Difference, One Cap at a Time At Hunter Scrubs, we're proud to have partnered with Prince of Wales Hospital on the Sip Till Send project. It's a testament to what can be achieved when healthcare professionals and suppliers come together with a shared goal: improving patient care. Each time a staff member dons a Sip Till Send cap, they're not just wearing a stylish accessory—they're part of a larger movement towards better, more compassionate healthcare. You're able to order these through the website.  Sip til send scrub hat Alternatively, if you have a design you need to create for your workplace or team, send us an email at admin@scrubs.com.au

Hunter Scrubs Moved to Warners Bay

Last week, Hunter Scrubs embarked on an exciting new chapter—moving our offices and warehouses from beachside Redhead to a more central location in Warners Bay, Newcastle. It was a mammoth task that came with its fair share of challenges, but also a lot of excitement! The move was no small feat. We were packing and unpacking simultaneously at two locations, all while striving to fulfill online orders on time. Sounds simple, right? Well, it was easy enough until we couldn’t find anything... including the toilet paper! As you can imagine, things didn’t always go according to plan. From Google Maps taking 30 days to update our new address to a slight delay in getting our signage up, we’ve had a few bumps along the way. But through it all, we’ve kept a positive attitude and smiled our way through every challenge. When you have a great team, it makes all the difference. The camaraderie and support among our staff have made coming to work each day an absolute pleasure, even amidst the chaos. What’s truly kept our spirits high has been the incredible response from our customers. We’ve received so much positive feedback about our new, more central location, and our store has been busier than ever! The people in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and Hunter region have shown us so much love and support, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you for standing by us during this transition. We’re thrilled to continue serving you from our new home in Warners Bay, and we look forward to welcoming you into our new space soon! Come in and say hi, our new address is  2aA Macquarie Rd, Warners Bay NSW

The Benefits of Wearing Properly Fitting Scrubs

The Benefits of Wearing Properly Fitting Scrubs

The Benefits of Wearing Properly Fitting Scrubs In the fast-paced and demanding world of healthcare, comfort and professionalism are key. One often-overlooked aspect that can significantly impact your performance and confidence is the fit of your scrubs. Here are several reasons why investing in properly fitting scrubs is essential for healthcare professionals. 1. Comfort and Ease of Movement Wearing scrubs that are either too tight or too loose can lead to chafing, irritation, and even pain. These discomforts can distract you from focusing on patient care, which is the heart of your profession. Properly fitting scrubs, however, allow for ease of movement and breathability, ensuring you stay comfortable throughout your shift. This comfort enables you to perform your duties effectively and without unnecessary distractions. 2. Confidence Boost Properly fitting scrubs enhance your appearance by showing off your figure, which can be a significant confidence booster. Feeling good about how you look can positively impact your mood and attitude at work. When you look professional and feel confident, it often translates into a better interaction with patients and colleagues, creating a more positive work environment. 3. Enhanced Professionalism Ill-fitting scrubs can appear baggy and unprofessional, undermining the professional image you strive to maintain. Well-fitted scrubs, on the other hand, enhance your appearance, helping you look polished and put-together. This professionalism can instill trust and confidence in your patients, reassuring them that they are in capable hands. 4. Flexibility and Stretch Modern scrubs are designed with materials that offer flexibility and stretch, unlike traditional cotton scrubs. This flexibility is crucial for healthcare professionals who are constantly on the move, bending, stretching, and lifting. Properly fitting, stretchy scrubs provide the range of motion needed to perform these tasks comfortably and efficiently. 5. Advanced Cooling Technology Today's scrubs often incorporate advanced cooling technology to help regulate body temperature. This feature is particularly beneficial during long shifts or in warm environments, as it helps prevent overheating. Staying cool and comfortable allows you to maintain your focus and energy levels, which is vital for providing the best care possible. 6. Wrinkle-Resistance Modern scrubs are designed to be wrinkle-resistant, ensuring you always look neat and professional. Wrinkled scrubs can give off an impression of disorganization and lack of attention to detail. Properly fitting, wrinkle-resistant scrubs help you maintain a crisp, professional appearance throughout your shift, reinforcing the professionalism that is so important in healthcare settings. Conclusion Investing in properly fitting scrubs is more than just a matter of comfort—it's a key component of your professional image and performance. From enhancing comfort and ease of movement to boosting confidence and ensuring a polished appearance, the benefits of well-fitted scrubs are clear. So next time you're shopping for scrubs, remember that fit matters. Prioritize comfort, professionalism, and modern features to ensure you’re at your best for every patient, every shift. By prioritizing properly fitting scrubs, you not only improve your own comfort and confidence but also enhance the overall patient experience. And at Hunter Scrubs, we understand the importance of a perfect fit. Explore our wide range of styles and designs to find the scrubs that suit you best and experience the difference that properly fitting scrubs can make.

The Unsung Hero of the OR: The Benefits of Wearing Scrub Caps in the Hospital or Dental practice

The Unsung Hero of the OR: The Benefits of Wearing Scrub Caps in the Hospital or Dental practice

In the hustle and bustle of hospital life, certain items of attire are indispensable, yet often overlooked. Among these essential items is the humble scrub cap. Far from being a mere accessory, scrub caps play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and cohesive environment in the operating room (OR) and beyond. Here are seven compelling reasons why wearing scrub caps is a must for healthcare professionals. 1. Infection Control Infection control is paramount in any healthcare setting. Scrub caps help prevent the spread of infectious agents by covering the hair and scalp, which can harbour bacteria and other pathogens. By containing hair and minimizing the exposure of scalp skin, scrub caps significantly reduce the risk of contamination in sterile environments like the OR. This small but vital piece of attire is a frontline defence in maintaining the sterile field necessary for successful surgeries and patient safety. 2. Protect Your Hair and Scalp Hospital procedures often involve the use of various liquids, from antiseptics to bodily fluids. Scrub caps offer a protective barrier that keeps your hair and scalp clean and dry. This is particularly important in the OR, where unexpected splashes and spills can occur. By wearing a scrub cap, healthcare professionals can avoid the discomfort and hygiene issues associated with having liquids on their hair and scalp. 3. Keep Hair and Sweat Away from Your Eyes Long shifts and high-pressure situations can lead to sweating, which can be both uncomfortable and distracting. Scrub caps help manage this by keeping hair and sweat away from your eyes. This ensures that you can focus on your work without the need for constant adjustments or interruptions. For surgeons and other healthcare professionals who need to maintain a high level of concentration, this can be a game-changer. 4. Reduce Waste in the Operating Room Environmental sustainability is becoming increasingly important in all aspects of life, including healthcare. Traditional disposable scrub caps contribute to medical waste, which can be substantial. By opting for reusable scrub caps, healthcare facilities can significantly reduce their waste output. This not only benefits the environment but can also result in cost savings over time. High-quality reusable scrub caps, like those offered by Hunter Scrubs, are durable and can withstand numerous washes, making them an eco-friendly and economical choice. 5. Express Your Personality Healthcare environments can often be clinical and impersonal. Scrub caps with unique designs provide a way for healthcare professionals to express their personality and add a touch of individuality to their attire. Whether it’s a vibrant pattern, a favourite colour, or a whimsical print, a personalized scrub cap can brighten up the day for both the wearer and their colleagues, fostering a more positive and engaging work environment. 6. Identify Colleagues Easily In the fast-paced environment of the OR, quick identification of team members is crucial. Scrub caps that feature printed or embroidered names or roles can help reduce errors and improve communication. For instance, a cap with "Surgeon" or "Nurse" clearly visible can expedite teamwork and coordination, especially in high-pressure situations where every second counts. 7. Foster Team Culture Matching team scrub caps can help build a sense of unity and camaraderie among healthcare teams. When everyone wears a coordinated cap, it visually reinforces the concept of teamwork and collective effort. This can be particularly motivating and can enhance the overall morale of the team. Whether it’s a specific colour scheme, logo, or custom design, team scrub caps symbolize solidarity and shared purpose. Conclusion Scrub caps are more than just a part of the uniform; they are a vital component of the healthcare professional’s attire that contribute to infection control, personal protection, efficiency, and team cohesion. By choosing high-quality, reusable, and customizable scrub caps, healthcare professionals can not only enhance their own comfort and safety but also bring a bit of their personality to work, reduce environmental waste, and foster a stronger team culture. So, the next time you don your scrub cap, remember the multitude of benefits it brings to your everyday work life.

Prudence earned her double degree in Fine Art and Education from Newcastle University in 2007. While she initially specialized in special education for a decade, the birth of her daughter inspired her to pursue her lifelong passion for art. Her artistic journey has been marked by remarkable achievements, including solo and joint exhibitions across Australia.
